I have to admit, that I’ve been living in the past for a few years with regards to my home entertainment center. Mostly because I didn’t really have a particular yearning to drop oodles of cash a new DVD home theater right away. But, my entertainment desires finally got the better of me, and I found myself online a few weeks ago pricing out and deal shopping for a fabulous DVD home theater system. After all of the components arrived, and I had time to connect and finish setting up my new DVD home theater, I can honestly say that I was blown away, quite literally. Now, movies really come to life. My DVD home theater has 5.1 surround sound – five speakers and a subwoofer that’s self powered – and it really makes you feel like you are in the actual movie. The TV is a 42” inch LCD HDTV, and I must say that it looks great from multiple angles; it really doesn’t matter at what angle you view it, there is nearly perfect clarity. The one thing that I didn’t bend on was a widescreen; I shot for the 3:4 ratio because most TV shows are in that ratio and look odd to me in widescreen. One thing is for sure: I don’t think I could ever go back, I’m even finding it hard to watch TV at a friend’s house anymore because my setup is so choice.
